Love Song

written March 27, 2008

How sweet did the sound,
sweet melodies played,
for a love to sing, play,
did catch upon ears,
silent,
soft,
floating on a breeze,
be that the sound,
of true love,
using the fruit of love,
to prove love,
the gentle lull,

yet this wonderful sound,
hath not fallen upon my ears,
I wait in silence,
counting every breath,
to hear that joyous, loving melody,
the song of love

silence is so lonely,
sad,
the heart waits,
and breaks,
awake my doubting heart,
O lifting melody,
sway my heart,
O loving melody,
sooth my lost soul,
O joyous melody,
radiant melody

O cupid,
turn thine bow into a harp,
and bring a man with harmonies,
melodies,
of such glorious hopes,
give me a love song,
that makes even Nightingales fall silent,
until love’s song falls on my ears,

May we be made for duet,
delay me no longer,
song of beauties for romance,
send my way,
a love song.
